To dare is to do..

So I’ve had a pretty awesome weekend and thought I’d have a ramble.
When your weekend starts with getting paid I guess you can expect it to be a good one really. Payday Friday which is always nice, moreso as when I got offered my new contract at the end of Jan I got a bit of a payrise which meant this was the first month I was getting a bit of extra money - sweet.

Thursday my manager asked if me and Sarah were free at lunch Friday. I presumed that meant pub times.. no, she took us bowling in our lunch hour as a team-building thing or something.
Completely unexpected but awesome regardless. It put me in such a good mood for the rest of Friday. I’m shit at bowling but I really do enjoy it and to randomly do that in your lunch hour just left me in good spirits going back to work for the afternoon.

Anyway my boss used to bowl quite regularly so the idea was for me and Sarah to beat her combined. As I said I’m not very good so it was a decent challenge in all fairness. Final bowl I think we’re 6 or 7 behind. Just me to bowl. I balls it up haha.
Sickening. We battered her in the second game but gutting to lose it on the final ball. Definitely need to go bowling a bit more often though. Not ridiculously expensive and it’s a good laugh.

Got back to work, Walker’s invited me to pub Friday night. Sounds good. Pretty drunk but a good night anyway. Usual faces out. I swear though we never went to the pub when everyone lived in Orton haha. Right pain in the ass with everyone the other side of town now. Doing it again Wednesday though for the England rubbish, Holland should spank us Wednesday really.

Out again last night for more drunken times. I’m trying to think of the last weekend I havn’t been met, I really don’t know. Started off out in Drapers with Rob, Walker and Sam. Jagers, shots, beers. I drunk so much last night. I’m really dreading to look at how much I’ve already spent this weekend.
I bought tickets for the Stevenage and Swansea games aswell so that’ll take a chunk of money, I’ve got to get a train ticket for York soonish aswell.

Another good night though. Lads out, Kelly and Vicky, Gavin, Fuller, Honor, Chris (not walker), Jason (not me haha) and a few others. Few new faces aswell which is always nice.

The only dampener on the weekend was the football today. Tottenham side I grew up watching (and fell in love with in fairness) showed up. Embarrassing stuff. Diving, piss poor attitude, workrate and shocking defending. 2-0 up undeservedly and I thought we’d be alright. We couldn’t have asked for a better start.
Incredibly disappointing but ‘typical Tottenham’ really, although I use the term lightly as it’s quite untypical of us to do that under ‘arry.

One thing I can’t understand though is the Spurs fans frustrations at the gooners enjoying it. That’s football. I’ve never been easily offended or taken stuff to heart too much anyway but a bit of banter is harmless and of course the gooners are going to enjoy it.
I refer to the other week but pub full of West ‘am fans - absolutely superb. A lot of the songs were anti-Spurs (helped by the fact we were on the telly) but it made for a decent atmosphere.

If you can’t take the banter then you’re watching the wrong game. Or the wrong team at the very least as Spurs have disappointed as frequently as anyone in my time. Born in 88, growing up in the 90’s - disappointed more than enough times in my life and you learn to live with the banter and then enjoy it when the good times come.
I was there when we smashed them 5-1 and then there when Danny Rose scored that screamer and both were incredible nights and I made sure to let the gooners know it.

I’ll let them have their day. The nice texts, facebook posts, numerous statuses haha and whatever else.
Let’s be honest - they’ve got bugger all else to sing about this year. They won their cup final today. Well done gooners.
