27. The Equator
Nearing the end of February and the end of my travel bucketlist now.
Bit of a different one this I suppose but it’d be interesting. It’s not like Edinburgh or Paris and you can jump on a train and be there in a couple of hours, I won’t find many people that I know personally who have done it. I can think of one exception.
This particular picture is along the line in Ecuador, I guess that’s the only real negative to this day. Nothing against Ecuador - anywhere once sort of thing but I’ve never said “I’ve always wanted to go to Ecuador”.
It’s sort of a day job - stand on both sides and that’s the appeal gone. The distance means it’s never going to be a day job though. You don’t travel all that way just to come home again.
Hopefully it’d surprise me whether it’s going to Ecuador or somewhere else you can do it along the equator but part of me feels I’d be like “done that, now what?”
It’s not like the line in Greenwich really is it? Do that and then you’ve got Greenwich Park, the market and other stuff and even once you’re bored of that you can get a ferry or whatever back into central London.
Probably a little biased towards London but I guess this is a genuine bucketlist pick for me.
I’d do the equator line once but I don’t feel I’d need to do it again. It’s not like a lot of the other places I’ve picked where if I enjoyed it I’d quite easily go back again.
I don’t know, maybe some tumblr folk have done it and think differently?
